Movie Night: Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events

Halloween, Movie NightAmy WileyComment

Halloween is creeping closer, so slightly frightful films are in order. This week we’re watching Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events with individual spooky snack boards. A kooky movie, a few candy eyeballs, and some creative touches came together to create this fun family evening. My Halloween Movie Night Printable Kit added some flair to the table and set the scene for a great time.

Combining my love for charcuterie boards and anything in miniature, these individual snack boards were a delightful way to change up our usual movie night fare. I loaded them up with cheese, crackers, apple slices, baby carrots, pepperoni, salami, candy corn, Trader Joe’s Ghost and Bats Chips, and of course a few candy eyeballs. I was eager to add some new-to-us movies to our Halloween mix now that my kids are older. We still don’t want to watch anything too scary. This movie definitely has some creepy parts and plenty of peril, but it’s offset with humor and an abundance of quirky characters. This one is best suited for older kids, and I recommend reviewing the content here to decide if it will work for your family.

The easiest way to create a theme at your table is with cute napkins. I love how these are a cheerful way to celebrate Halloween.

These little boards were surprisingly filling! I can’t wait to use this set again and again.

Whimsy and novelty are what make Halloween fun. I hope your weekend holds plenty of slightly spooky moments!
