Tuesday Treats: Get a Jump on Christmas!

Christmas, Tuesday TreatsAmy WileyComment

I know, I know. It’s only September… September 25th… which means Christmas is just three months away! I love Christmas so much, and I do my best each year to set myself up for less stress and more enjoyment of the season. My trick? I try to do a little Christmas prep on the 25th of each month. That way I have less work in December and more time to just sit and enjoy looking at the tree and being with my family.

Here are a few things you can get now to both be prepared… and to keep yourself from missing out. The early bird gets the Christmas worm!

Dated Frame Ornaments

I love dated ornament frames because they are an easy way to add personal touches to your tree AND easily remember the dates year to year. These are excellent grandparent gifts as well if you add photos! Buy them now, because they tend to sell out.

Neiman-Marcus Annual Platter

I’ve shared the Neiman-Marcus annual platter before, because it’s one of the oldest tricks on my book. It’s the absolute perfect one-size-fits-all gift. It’s a great price, it comes beautifully boxed, and it can check that “has everything” person off your list.

Advent Calendars

Lego Advent Calendars are SUCH a treat and I love that they offer something besides candy each day. These go fast, too, in my experience. I love that their are versions perfect for my son and my daughter.

Personalized Gift Tags

Personalized gift tags add so much elegance to your gifts. Not to mention, they are a timesaver when you are trying to wrap that mound of presents! I love these letterpressed gift tags. Ordering now means you’ll have them in time to wrap gifts whenever you please.

Those are a few of the tricks I have up my sleeve… now back to Halloween preparations!

Movie Night: The Stray

Movie NightAmy WileyComment

A cute dog, a Colorado setting, and a faith-based film were the ingredients for this movie night, The Stray. We always love when a movie is based on a true story, like this one.

The kids came home from school delighted to see the doggie theme on our table! You can check out the content of this movie here. The Stray does have some potentially scary parts.

The table setting was fairly simple. I picked up these perky bandannas at Hobby Lobby to use as napkins.

A craft paper runner and a marker made our centerpiece easy to create and to clean up!

Our dessert was also simple, but delicious and darling at the same time!

I simply put these two store-bought items together…

…and created cupcakes to go with the movie theme.

A few extra “dog bones” scattered on the table were tempting as snacks while I fixed dinner.

This movie is really all about family… and so are we! I hope you get to spend some good time with yours this weekend.

Happy Friday!

Tuesday Treats: All the Pumpkin Spice

Tuesday TreatsAmy WileyComment

Love it or hate it, it’s pumpkin spice season and I’m here for it.  I’ve rounded up a few treats to get you in the mood for our beloved seasonal latte…

Hair Clips

I squealed when I saw these and my daughter did the same when I gave them to her. She immediately wore the little pumpkin spice latte clip to school and said her teacher loved it. Too, too cute. I like that babies and big girls alike can wear these.

At some point many years ago I ceased wearing plain socks, because why be boring? Fall is the perfect time to sport some pumpkin spice love.  I’m loving these!

Kitchen Helpers

If you’re going to wash your hands, your dishes, and the counter-tops every day (or really, several times a day!) you might as well enjoy the scent of the season.  I picked up pumpkin-scented hand soap, dish soap, and all-purpose cleaner because I know I’ll use them and smile while I do.

Pumpkin Placemats

Are these pumpkin placemats not the prettiest? I love the flexibility and ease of paper placemats. They are such a delightful way to dress up your dinner table.

Luxurious Candle

Speaking of being in the kitchen, I love to burn a beautiful candle after dinner to erase the cooking smells... anyone else?  Fall candles are my all-time favorite and this one is the queen of them all.  My birthday is Friday so feel free to surprise me with one of these.

I’m off to enjoy a PSL!
