Most of the birthday traditions in our home date back to my son’s first birthday. Back then, I was so excited to start celebrating and researched all kinds of ideas. While we still honor many traditions we started at age one, this year I introduced a new way to celebrate the “birthday person” in our home. I think you might want to celebrate this way too!

It’s simple. I purchased these letter dishes for all of our household’s initials. We have some overlap, so I purchased six total.

When the big day rolls around, set out the birthday girl or boy’s initials and fill with their favorite candies. It’s a simple touch that makes them feel extra celebrated.

The candy is for the whole family to enjoy and snack on during the birthday week. It’s nice to share one person’s favorites with the whole family!
